Amstel Botel, what can I say? Cheap no frills hotel in a central location a few minutes boat ride from Amsterdam Central Station. We have been there twice now and knew what we were getting into as far as the hotel goes. Cheap, no frills and located well. Dissapointing though was one member of staff, an Asian lady who was... more

We have stayed at the Amstel Botel four times now and use it for an overnight stay on our way to Europe and then again on the way back to Britain. This is the first time we have stayed in its new moorings and I was a little disappointed as it, at first glance, did look to be moored in... more

although several years ago now and maybe thngs have improved, I feel compelled to share my experience of the Botel. I stayed in one of the lower deck rooms (the bottom of the window is about level with the water !). Unfortunately the septic tank must have been a slightly higher level than my bathroom, because every so often turds... more

We booked the Botel as it was the cheapest accomodatin we could find, so we can hardly complain that it wasn't 4 star!! But, the rooms were VERY small, and VERY basic, and the walls extremely thin!! And, as has been mentioned, the whole place is loking a little tired. The Botel rocks in the wash of passing barges, but... more

Ok, so the rooms are small... VERY small!! But so what, if its a fancy, big hotel room, with fabulous amenities and a hotel that you can lounge by the pool all day that you're looking for then go somewhere else beside Amsterdam! All you need in this city is a bed and a roof and the Amstel Botel provides... more

I think this is the most difficult review I have ever compiled since this Hotel should be getting a rotten review for its tiny rooms, inconvenient location, poor decor, cheap furniture, and chipboard bed... But you know what... I loved it!!! Why? Well it was cheap... it advertised a rate of 80 euros/night, which is cheap for a continental capital... more

I stayed at the Botel for 3 nights last August and I must say that I was more than a bit disappointed. The main problem for me was the lack of young people. I went to Amsterdam looking to meet new people and the Botel didn't help at all as it was literally full of middle aged couples and families.... more

My boyfriend and I had previously stayed at Botel two years ago, when it was only a 5 minute walk from Centraal Station. We didn't realise it had moved and the instructions said that it was now "opposite Centraal Station". We spent a good hour and a half driving around, trying to find it before we realised that opposite the... more
