The rooms are quite small and the bathrooms are even tinier... but I guess not completely unexpected for budget traveling in Europe. The Botel is clean and quiet though. While it's very close to the heart of the city, it's far enough away that we got some good rest when we got home after walking around the museums and city... more

when i first saw the boat i was a bit annoyed as it didnt look to great, but as they say you should never judge a book by its cover! the rooms were small but had everything you needed - a bed and a shower! my partner and myself were in amsterdam to be out and about and have a... more

Easy to get to from the airport. Don't be put off by it being on the other side of the river. The ferry is free and trequent from Central station so you are quickly at the hub of the city. Free shuttle bus for Botel during the night. Has its own bar. Rooms were ok. small bathroom with shower only.Staff were... more

My girlfriend and I stayed here with a tour group for 2 nights only. The hotel literally is a moored boat and does rock a little, so beware if you get sea sick - we were fine though. What I liked about the Botel is that while it is not in the heart of Amsterdam, you can hop on a... more

More like a backpackers than a hotel. Rooms where very small, with very dated furniture made of melamine, which was chipped. Mattress was ok. The bathroom was tiny, when you sat on the toilet you could touch each wall. The bathroom was covered in mould and door frames where rusty. The carpet was old and had holes. The botel moved... more

What we experienced was quite shameful, to put it mildly. First, our room had brown spots on the wall, there was a lot of hair on the matress and even pubic hair in the bathroom. We were then moved to another room, fair enough. This room smelled like cigarettes (we asked for a nonsmoking room) and, finally, one of the... more

Just returned from a short stay in Amsterdam, where we stayed at the Botel. This is the first time we ever stayed on a boat, and we didn't really know what to expect. Having said that, we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was adequate, it could have been a little bigger, but having said that, as we only used... more

Room basic but comfortable and cleaned daily. Pity about location, a bit isolated, but no way threatening, quite safe, busy dockland housing area, one bar/restaurant near by, Botel recently moved to new pier, but regular free ferry shuttle to town, 10 mins. journey close to central station. Longer by road. Breakfast average. Staff helpful. more
