Rapidly diminishing levels of rooms and inconsistent service make this property recently disappointing.....I have no doubt that will get it right once more but currently not as good as 5 years ago. However, very capable concierge can organise everything for your stay More

The Intercontinental Amsterdam is conveniently located for both Tram and Metro lines. It is positioned on the river and river view rooms have a very nice view over the Amstel. It will be better when the adjacent bridge construction is complete. But this only intrudes on a small part of the view and we heard no construction noise at all.... More

This must be one of the best Amsterdam has to offer, have your meal on the water, walk into the city but still enjoy the quietness of the outskirts. One of those that everyone must stay in once in their life. More

Dear Guest, Thank you for the compliment. I would not recommend a meal on the water today as the citizens of Amsterdam are currently ice skating on the Amsterdam canals! We look forward to opening our terraces again from the 1st of April. With warm regards, The Management More

it is a beautiful hotel. have been coming the last 10 years very frequently. it seems to me the management has forgotten to pay attention to the details. in a luxury hotel at this level the sink should work, the jacuzzi by the pool should work, the furniture in the rooms need to be polished. the faucet of the shower... I was only two nights at the Amstel. Just 10 Minutes from the citycenter it is a real palace. I used my points, so I paid nothing. As an Ambassador I got an upgrade to a very very beautiful room withe a hugh bathroom, with shower and tub. The room itself was very big too. They had more than 100 TV... More

I spend 2 weeks at the Amstel for vacation and the hotel exceeded every expectation I had. There was not one thing they could have done differently it almost appeared as if they were able to read my mind. While you are there definitely visit the restaurant downstairs. You won't be disappointed with this hotel. More

concierges were super helpful and creative in their assistance. room was nice, got a river view, but needed maintenance, sink had to be repaired when we were there. pool is beautiful but also in disrepair, the whirlpool was not working, we were informed that:" a lot of people complain about that" you think? how about fixing it, the meal at the... I am going to try my best to be objective, so first the good points. (1) Door staff very friendly. (2) nice Amsterdam View (this is true for most hotels in Amsterdam) (3) Good quality room, maybe not 5 star. A little old fashioned, but nice enough. (4) Has a pool with river views. That's the good bits now for... More

This very upscale beautifully appointed hotel was perfect for me on the last leg of my African adventure. Boy did I need a comfortable bed and I got one. Wonderful bed...made it hard to leave the room! The hotel has a pool with lounge chairs and a spa. It was a great place to lounge about and rest my beaten... More

I had heard wonderful things about this hotel and was looking forward to staying there but I have to confess to being disappointed. My room was very expensive - around the 400 euro mark - but really quite small and poorly equipped with an uninspiring view over the building opposite. It was rather strangely laid out with a tiny wardrobe... More
