The Toren is prominently placed amongst the grand 17th century canal houses of the Keizergracht. They form a perfect backdrop to the striking transformation of the hotel. Well known interior designer Wim vandeOudeweetering took charge of creating a chic, theatrical and slightly mystical ambience, in which style, warmth and comfort unite. The 38 guestrooms are all different and vary from small and elegant to spacious and stunningly beautiful. more » « less

After researching countless hotels on the internet, my wife and I finally chose The Toren for our first-ever visit to Amsterdam. We hoped it would live up to everything we had learned about it online. It did, and more. The Toren and our Amsterdam trip as a whole exceeded the high expectations with which we had arrived. Location, charm, cleanliness,... more

this hotel has what it takes to welcome you. The staff is warm, friendly and always at your service. My room was very nicely decorated and has all facilities you may need (tea and coffee, minibar, room service). The mini bar items have very decent prices. This hotel worth at least a try that you will certainly not regret. more

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in this fabulous hotel. Our room was a luxury double with whirlpool bath and it did not disappoint!! The staff were very friendly and I would especially like to thank the guy on reception (cannot for the life of me remember his name, sorry!) for his help and concern when we... more

After a rigorous search on the internet, I was so pleased that I had selected The Toren. It was a "romantic getaway" for us. We stayed in the "junior bridal suite". The king bed was comfortable and the linens were very nice....lots of pillows too! Our room was on ground level with french doors which fully opened to a courtyard... more

After a flight cancellation we stayed one night at this hotel suggested by hotel reservations desk at Schiphol airport and were impressed by its originality, friendly helpful staff and unique room design. It's canalside location in the heart of the Jordaan district meant that some of Amsterdam's best cafe's and buildings were within easy reach and the station for trains... more

Stayed at the Toren for 5 nights this April 2008. We stayed in the annex a few doors down from the main building in a superior room with a canal view. I have traveled to europe many times over the years and I am aware of what is considered a spacious room. I was very happy with the size- not... more

I stayed here for one bitterly cold night (outside) in December last year. This has to be one of the best hotels I have stayed in, and I have stayed in a few over the years, let me tell you. On arrival you will be surprised at the lovely decor of the ground floor, not to mention the warmth and charm... more

Ok Hotel. I stayed in a room at the back - v quiet and decent size room. Smelled of smoke which wasnt nice. Colours were very gaudy. Cost me about £130 and breakfast was extra. Nice bar but pricey. Location good - alongside a canal. No real wow factor glad I was only stopping one night. Next time I'll stay... more

We were very impressed by the feel of the hotel it is decorated in a 17th century style with big chandeliers and open fireplaces. The location of the hotel is excellent it is just round the corner from Anne Franks House, and in walking... more
