We stayed two nights at the Toren in mid-June 2009. The entire hotel seems to have been designed to evoke a feeling of being in a hipper-than-thou lounge bar or nightclub. Right from walking into the little lobby, it is all dark velvet drapes, scarlet and purple wallpaper, black desks and chandeliers, and a general feeling of deliberately hip gloominess.... more

Overall, I LOVED this hotel! I stayed in the Annex, which is about half block from the main building. I had a double room for 2 days, then a single for the remainder of my stay. Overall, VERY impressed. The first single I was in was not the best location (right next to the elevator) and therefore noisy, but I... more

We were met on arrival by friendly, helpful staff, who showed us to a very luxurious room with loads of style and character as well as great facilities. We know Amsterdam very well, and have to say that the location is superb; quiet enough to be relaxing, close enough to the centre to be a pleasure to walk to any... more

My husband and I stayed at The Toren for 3 nights in early May. It was our first trip to Amsterdam and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Our room was small (very typical European size) by American standard but clean, cozy and elegantly decorated. The location was wonderful, away from the urban grittiness of being in... more

Arriving from North America at 6:00 AM can be disorientating. However, the Hotel Toren helped tremendously make our transition to Holland a pleasant one. We arrived at the hotel about 8:00 AM and they were more than gracious, offering us breakfast, restroom facilities, storage for our luggage, and travel hints for the day. When we returned in the afternoon to... more

The Toren Hotel is located on the canal a brief stroll to Anne Franks House and approx 5 min walk into the Dam Square. The hotel is housed in a charming old building which sits proudly on the canal avenue. Check-in – Fast, efficient and totally professional. Room – On arrival we were disappointed with the small size of the... more

It was a very pleasant surprise that a pretty small hotel is offering you facilities that you won't find in well known hotels. After may stay to The Toren I have decided that I won't chose in the future for 4 or 5 * hotels with big names. It doesn't worth it. Hotels similar to The Torren are the best... more

My wife and i have invited 12 of our best friends for 4 days to Amsterdam for the occasion of our 25 year marriage. It has been a great success also because of the fact that we stayed in Hotel The Toren. The service and friendlyness we have received here was super. We had a terrific stay at The Toren. While the room was (European) small it was beautifully appointed with a nice bathroom. Bathtub was large and bubble baths were the order of the day after walk, walk, walking all over Amsterdam. Staff was excellent and had friendly suggestions of things to do and how to get there. Nespresso machine in... more
