NH Doelen is a quaint hotel located near Amsterdam University in City Centre. Everything was within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable. The Hotel staff was extremely helpful with directions, what to see in the immdediate area and general information. We did not use the on site restaurant as it appeared rather pricey.... more

Just got back from a weekend spent at the Doelen, it's ideally located to walk to the Centraal station in 10 mins, or most places in the centre of town in a short time. I stayed for business and liked the hotel. The room was nice and overlooking the Amstel river. A bit old fashioned furniture and decoration, but that has its charm. Service is good and friendly. Better value for money for me than their five star-neighboor. more

We enjoyed our week's stay at the NH Doelen. It was a great location in the heart of Amsterdam and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was enjoyable and the rooms were small, but clean! I really enjoyed their line of bath products---good smelling body wash! more
