First, the bad news: It will be 1/2 an hour by tram from Station Centraal (and the "sites) to the stop where the hotel is...but it has less to do with the distance and more with the fact that Ams. trams are pretty slow. The hotel itself was fine, pretty standard 3* deal. However, when booking through Expedia, was told it was 15 mins away from the centre by public transport. We stayed here with a Cosmos Tour . We found it to be very clean,staff were friendly . It was close to public transport. It has a good bar for after dinner drinks & breakfast was very enjoyable. more

This hotel is exceptionally cheap, which initially makes you kinda worry! It's cheapness is due to its location which you'll have read on other reviews.
