After 40 minutes by tram (from Central Station to Hoekeness) and about 15 minutes by walking we have finally find the hotel. At the reception they told us that something was wrong with our reservation and they have done an overbooking. They send us to Holiday Inn, outside Amsterdam, one hour far from the city center. First, the bad news: It will be 1/2 an hour by tram from Station Centraal (and the "sites) to the stop where the hotel is...but it has less to do with the distance and more with the fact that Ams. trams are pretty slow. The Western suburbs are a quiet and pretty residential area, so not a lot to do... more

The hotel itself was fine, pretty standard 3* deal. However, when booking through Expedia, was told it was 15 mins away from the centre by public transport. We stayed here with a Cosmos Tour . We found it to be very clean,staff were friendly . It was close to public transport. It has a good bar for after dinner drinks & breakfast was very enjoyable. more
