THe Radisson Blu Hotel in Amsterdam is an excellent hotel in central Amsterdam. A short cab ride from the train connection to AMS airport *or* a 41-Euro cab ride direct to Schipohl. Stayed a week in late August sharing a double room with an extra bed for a young teenager. The room was immaculate, plenty of room for the three of us - eye wateringly expensive mini-bar but then you don't have to use it. Very quiet and no disturbance from any other guests.
