Located just outside the beautifull Vondelpark is Atlas Hotel only a 5 minute stroll away from all the important museums. After your breakfast with hot and cold items you can easily acces the old town (Jordaan and 9 streets) by a 10 minute tram ride. The authentic Jugendstill building gives a very nice athmosfere.

I have always stayed at the Hotel Atlas Vondelpark. It is well-located (next to Vondelpark, minutes from the top museums in Amsterdam, nice neighborhood, good transportation). But this November 2023 stay is the last. The hotel is going downhill. It no longer offers a very nice breakfast buffet and the lounge has been closed off. I stayed in a single room that was located on the ground floor. I opened the blinds and found bicycles parked next to the window. The bathroom is deteriorating. The floor desk is open from 9 a.m. to early evening. The rest of the time it is shuttered. Besides my room in the basement, there are numerous others -- it is basically a rabbit hutch. The Atlas is now suitable only as a youth hostel or for low-budget backpackers. What a shame.

I hate to say anything negative because the staff we met were so friendly and helpful but the hotel is really shabby. Our room was run down and very basic; I thought it could use a complete overhaul. We didn’t have basics like a hair dryer or iron but did have a safe, TV and kettle. Aside from the shabbiness my main issues was the bed. The bed was so uncomfortable, I didn’t sleep well at all. However the location is great, right next to the park and a short walk to public transport, I did walk in to the city centre one morning and it took about 40mins. The area around is beautiful too, very quiet part of the city with fab restaurants and bars. Overall though I wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately.

I usually write personally to any hotel to share Feedback. This time, i want to share it here since the hotel Owner is simply ignorant and its all about the money. I made a non refundable reservation back in May. As I am fully aware of the rules that apply, i did however asked for their support and eventual refund due to the death of my mother. It was declined and even commented with, well you booked non refundable. I am aware but even though i booked non refundable plane tickets, Austrian did reimburse. Its called human decency. After 4 weeks, I emailed the hotel again, asking for any acknowledgment. No reaction and simply irgnoring me. If thats how you want to make business, i wish you best of luck.

Although in a great location Hotel Atlas is basically nothing more than a hostel with the cheapest most basic facilities money can buy. We had 2 single beds in a room that could barely accommodate 1 bed. Up there with some of the worst places I have stayed. The reception was only open from 3pm due to maintenance

Plus: the hotel is right next to Vondelpark, which is a nice sanctuary from the crowded tourist areas of downtown Amsterdam. You can walk to the Museum district from here, as well as the 2 and 12 trams that will get you downtown. Minuses: the hotel is under some major reconstruction at the time of this review. There are work crews there during the daytime areas with heavy equipment, construction dust, scaffolding everywhere, and noise. Even though Hotel Atlas Vondelpark confirmed two months before that I could stow my baggage there before 1500 check-in time, I arrived at 1100 to find the doors locked with a sign saying that the reception area opens at 1500. Even if this inconvenience was construction-related, they should have honored their commitment as baggage storage is an important benefit for weary international travelers from overnight flights that arrive in the morning. Previous reviewers mention a hotel breakfast but this didn't exist, probably also because of construction. …

Hotel is under refurbishment so we had to go up the road to another for breakfast, this was fine and will improve when hotel is up and running again, it is quite dated but clean and the staff are friendly, location is excellent right next to Vondelpark and 5 minutes from museums, the coffee machine, would return as in a lovely neighbourhood, be lovely when refurbishments are finished I’m sure

Great hotel. Friendly staff especially Maria who was very helpful and charming. Good size room. Quite location in charming area of Amsterdam. 15 minute walk to town. Plus you have Vondel park behind the hotel. Would definitely stay take. One star taken for lack of kettle in the room..unfortunately you cannot give a score of 4.5 or I would.

Rooms were big . Bed was comfortable. But the bathroom was a disaster. It was blocked and when you showered all the bathroom got wet. The roomservice was also bad . They took our towels and did not put the new ones for two days. And they did not took the garbage for three days

It was pouring when we arrived and we arrived well before check in and we were able to leave our bags there. When we returned to check in, the staff had out our bags in our room which was lovely. All the staff were nice. I liked our room, it was large and it had a nice view. It was quiet too. I liked that I had a kettle and I had places to hang our coats and my dresses. The bed was comfortable and the shower was perfect. There was a nice park to walk through too.

I made a reservation for a wrong date, and called back within a few minutes to correct the reservation. The staff was however very difficult and not willing to work with me to find a solution. I still had to pay the FULL amount, and was not able to change the date, get a refund coupon or nothing. Incredibly bad service for a hospitality business! I definitely don't recommend going here, as the staff will not help at all to resolve any problems.
