- Vijaya Hotel

Visited the Hotel Vijaya recently and was very dissapointed. After checking in and paying on arrival we trekked up the rickety staircases with soiled carpets to our room. Several flights of small stairs later we arrived at our room, which did have a nice view, but was very cold and dank. Covers were dirty and moth eaten, and the grotty...

Went to Amsterdam for the 5th time, stayed at this hotel before a few years ago. I remember the location was good - but this place was so shocking. The room we had didn't have a working shower. Most people in this hotel were too stoned to complain. We had a room which was damp and damaged, TV didn't work,...

unfortunately we booked our accommodation 1 week before going to amseterdam and accommodation gets pretty hard to find and this hotel managed to have 1 bedroom with 3 single beds. So when i booked the accommodation it was 210 EU a night so then it was 420 EU for the 2 nights. In general you can get this cheaper if...

The room and bathroom is cleaned and made everyday with fresh owls. The room was cosy and we over looked the canel. As you are near the pubs it can get loud but hey this...

I find the hotel one of the...

Stayed recently when my usual hotel was full. Central location. Nice, if basic, freshly decorated room, reasonably comfy bed. Ordinary breakfast of bread, cold meat, cheese etc.
The guy at the desk was a sarcastic, unhelpful pain in the backside, joking that they had no rooms when I arrived (with a reservation) and kept up the pretence until I got...

I don't know where to start with this awful hotel. Maybe with the plus points which will be much quicker to say...the location is superb, right on the edge of the red light district. That's where the plus points end.
The guy on reception was very cold and unfriendly. Our room was right at the top up some narrow stairs...

I always stay at the Vijaya whenever I visit Amsterdam - the reason? It's close to the station, the rooms are clean and ensuite, there's a basic but good breakfast buffet (cold meats, cheeses, bread, cereals, juice etc), they will store your luggage if you're checking in early or checking out late and don't want to carry bags around with...
