I was extremely disappointed with Hotel Aalders. We are generally easy going and didn't expect too much but when you pay $175 a night you would think that maybe it would be a comfortable stay ! Far from it. The room was extremely small/bathroom even smaller. The room was so dusty that me and my husband would start sneezing as... more
We stayed 3 nights in early June - our double room was small with no place to sit, the bed was just inches from the floor, and the bath was even tinier - the TripAdvisor reviews we read led us to book here but those reviewers are not used to staying in even inexpensive hotels in U.S. The doors on... more
We stayed at Aalders Hotel for 4 nigths at the start of June. Originally we thought that the Hotel might have been a bit far from the centre of Amsterdam, however we where pleased to find that we where wrong, the centre is a short tram ride or a short walk away. The Hotel itself was very clean and with... more
We just returned from Amsterdam. We stayed in Aalders-Hotel for 4 nights, and we have to say that there is nothing negative about it. It’s close to everything and most importantly, far from noise. It’s very-very clean and the staff is always willing to help and answer in all your questions. We will certainly recommend it to all potential visitors.... more
The Hotel Aalders was absolutely wonderful. Fresh baked breads and croissants, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fruit- a substantial, healthy breakfast every morning; clean rooms; friendly employees; a great little bar with computer, an elevator, perfect location. The rooms wee small by American standards, but the prices made this cozy, clean, friendly place an excellent value. The best museums are right down... more
Our family of 4 stayed in a quadraple room with a balcony overlooking the front street. It was a big cosy room with clean attached shower & toilet. This is a smoke-free hotel with a lift. The hotel is in a lovely, quiet and safe neighbourhood. Museums, a supermarket, a very nice park, and street full of branded shops are... more
This is a small and nice hotel in the Museum district located in central and yet quiet enough area. You can easily walk everywhere, Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum are literally just around the corner, the designer shopping street's very close so the neighbourhood is really nice. Tram 2 and 5 stop is nearby - you can easily arrive from... more
This is a great little hotel. As you'd expect with a three star hotel - the lounge/bar is fairly small, and there wasn't a safe or fridge in my room. On the other hand, the Hotel Aalders has a nice friendly atmosphere and I had an enjoyable stay there at a very reasonable rate. What I liked most was the... more
Close to bus lines, museums, and restaurants. Super breakfasts served in a lovely dining room. The staff was very helpful, and went out of their way to print out a list of recommended restaurants and directions to a small town we wanted to visit. They also helped with other information and advice. more
