I stayed in the A-Train with three friends, in the top floor apartment/ quad bed. We all loved it. We got the train from the airport and when we stepped out of the train station we could see our hotel. We checked in and took the lift to our room, the lift doesn't quite go the whole way up to... more

Booked this hotel after being led to believe room would have canal view. Arrived and a "full" sign displayed with owner standing in doorway having a cigarette and just called out "full". I explained I had a booking so he went to desk and pulled out my booking, asked for the money; I asked to see the room first and... more

This was my first visit to Amsterdam, and the A-Train was recommended to me by a friend. When booking, it was obvious that Amsterdam wasn't a cheap place to stay - three nights at the A-Train was a fraction under €350 with one of their 'hot deals', which seemed to be on a par with other hotels in the mid-range... more

We chose to stay in this hotel because it was one of the only hotels that we could find that offered a FAMILY ROOM and after looking on trip advisor as we always do we decided to book the A trains family room. We have stayed in Amsterdam before (pre children) at the Radisson hotel and since it was going... more

This hotel features an elevator, free breakfast , free internet, an interesting theme, and a great location, literally a 2 minute walk from the train station. My standard room was small, but this is typical for Amsterdam. It had a view of the canal in front of the train station. It is also one of the few hotels that has... more

Let me start by saying the Hotel is in a fantastic location for P&O ferrie travellers as the coach from the europort drops you straight outside the hotel! You can then lock your luggage away and explore the city! The reception area is nice and quirky as is the lobby, all based on the train/travellers theme, staff are very freindly... more

Just returned from Amsterdam, having taken a small group of students to carry out business research for school course. Selected A-Train Hotel on the basis of reviews on another site, and was not disappointed. The rooms are small - so are most city-centre hotel rooms; particularly in Amsterdam because of the architecture! Surely most reviewers have encountered wet-rooms before? Much... more

Just had a 1 night stay in the A Train in Amsterdam - wished it was for longer! The hotel is right across from the Central Station and ideally located. On entering you cannot miss the train memorabilia, the owners must be real enthusiasts - it was great! The Rooms were spotless we booked a double and the family room.... more

I decided to stay in A-Train after reading all these good reviews. I stayed in "first class room" (nothing first class about it; small room, no amenities - shampoo etc available) and after the third night (they had not changed the sheets) I found a little blood in the sheets. My alarm bells did not ring then....The fouth morning the... more

Management response from

Bedbugs are a real nightmare for hoteliers and unfortunately traveling with guest's luggage, all over the world. As soon as they are spotted, the room is sprayed by RENTOKILL, with whom we have a contract. All sheets etc. are washed seperatly and the room is blocked for at least 2 days. That is what we told Mr. Lonelywolf when he...
