We stayed at this hotel in June for 3 nights, when we arrived it looked very pretty from the outside, right along by one of the many canals. Once we checked in we were told we were on the fourth floor, which was up about 160 very very narrow and steep stairs, NO lifts. As for the room, it was... more

The hotel is a good base for seeing Amsterdam, Rembrandtplein & Dam square & red light district all very close by. The hotel is very tired and somewhat sleazy with some rooms coming (pardon the pun) with mirrored ceilings and every available wall is mirrored. Hotel details do state hair dryers in the rooms but we were told that that... more

I took my mum on a week-long trip to Amsterdam last week and chose this place to stay because it was affordable without being clearly aimed at the smoking tourist croud. The room was very dark with an incredible choice and combination of curtains / bedspread / wallpaper (certainly raises a smile if you have a sense of humour!) and... more

STRAIGHT UP THIS WAS THE WORST HOTEL EVER!!!! I had a minor back injury which led to me arriving at the hotel a tiny bit late. She had already givin our room to another customer which then left us roomless. We were then told we could go to the spare room which is located in the basement. This room is... more

I stayed here for one night at the end of October 2008 with my family and it is an experience never to be repeated. The hotel is in an advanced state of disrepair and is not clean. The carpet in the communal areas is very poorly fitted and given how steep and narrow the stairs are (there is no elevator)... more

The hotel lies in a quiet street close to Rembrandtplein square and 10 minutes' walk from the Red Light District. Do be aware as previous reviews have highlighted that there is no passenger lift. The staircase is both steep and winding and it would be all too easy to trip over especially when carrying luggage all the way up to... more

Good and bad points - Good - 5 minutes walk away from Red Light District and Dam Square. Bad - There is no lift, we stayed in Room 19 which was at the very top of the hotel, which is about 8 flights of stairs up. It was an absolute disaster trying to get up and down them, especially with... more

The hotel was situated on a lovely little street that was close enough to all the hussle an bustle but far enough away so that it was quiet and felt safe at night, dam square was only a 10 minute walk away and central station was 20minutes on foot. The rooms were dated in there decor, but were very clean... more

Hotel is situated at great place in quiet street and right in center, so its close to Rembrandplein square, chinese part, flowers market and red light zone. You can walk easily to centraal station. So you get easily and fast everywhere in center. People who worked there were friendly, we had no problem. Reception is open 24h, so no problem... more
