We started our trip in Amsterdam by walking to Hotel Roemer from the train station. It took us about 25 minutes to walk. Needless to say, we were exhausted by the time we arrived at the hotel. However, the approach to the hotel was enough to relax and refresh us! The hotel is located in a rizy part of town... more

We were moved here when the Hotel Vondel had double booked our online booking. We were shown initially a not great room (long and narrow with bed not in line of site to window) - but were then put in a basement suite - the steps walked up to the back garden and small duck pond. Room really nice -... more

We had booked a room online with their sister hotel. When we got there we were told it was full so they moved us to this one and upgraded our room (it is literally right around the corner). We thought it was a great hotel and experienced none of the rudeness another review on this hotel wrote about. The room... more

If as a business traveller I book a twin room for me and my colleague I expect two separate beds not a double. I asked to change to a proper twin room after seeing the same request being fixed for another customer before only to be told no. It seemed fine that I as a paying corporate customer it was... more

This may have been a great boutique hotel once but is in need of decoration a thorough clean and better maintenance. Booked all inclusive garden room. The garden was neglected and some of the furniture broken, the empty beer bottle that was in the garden outside our room on arrival was still there on our last day. Beer and soft... more

Though quiet and secluded, this charming hotel is within walking distance of major museums. The staff are unfailingly helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast, included, which is varied and adequate, is a welcome amenity, as are the afternoon snacks. There is a computer in the lobby for internet access. more

Booked 2 top rate rooms with jacuzzi bath but only got one, number 21, the other, no. 19 could barely fit the bed in and no bath only a shower. When we queried this were told that the hotel was full even though our booking was made in July 2008. We made up for it however in the cosy lounge... more

When my wife arrived to check-in to our Delux Room, she was surprised to be shown the way toward the basement. The room was literally underground with a window that looked at the feet of passersby... When my wife refused the room, she was told that the only room they had 'above-ground' was very small. Indeed, a double bed and... more

Although my Marriott points were sacrificed for a stay at something 'different' around the corner, I was satisfied that I made the choice to try this boutique hotel rather than the old stand-by. As a business traveler I have somewhat different requirements than when I'm on holiday, and this hotel met my needs quite well. Finding the hotel: You can... more
