We were there for the football and we booked last May through easytobook.com. When we arrived we were told that they did not have rooms for us and they had e.mailed the relevant people last September to notify them of the cancellation, we did not receive that e.mail. Not recommended. Can find better place closer to center. Cheap though. Room was basic, the window was broken, bathroom awful, good that we stayed only 1 night, so we managed not to take showers (!) would have been a mess. Breakfast in the morning was basic, in a very small room. Do not come here. more

The hotel was clean enough, the staff were correct but nothing else. They didn't help us in any thing with the city o even with the payament. It is not expensive to be clean and polite: So why is the Sphinx hotel so dirty? Mold in the bathroom shower, stains on the carpet, dust everywhere; our room smelled awful. Horrible run down dump,over priced,didn't get a double bed that we booked,our friends were placed on the ground floor while we had to go up 3 flights of stairs,staff didn't even offer to help us up these stairs,didn't get toilet that we booked for our room,had to use communal toilet which had grafitti over it,don't blame the artists!,carpets were disgusting,walls... more
