This is a very nice small hotel in one of the most charming areas of Amsterdam. It definitely exceeded our expectations for a one-star hotel! The room with a private toilet was clean and cosy, and the staff was friendly. If you have problems with locomation it's good to notice that there's a very steep staircase but no elevator. Anyway,... more

This is your typical small and old hotel. It has about zero amenities except for the ok breakfast they serve at your room due to a lack of a dining room. The don't make (or can't) any investments, so everything is old. But they keep it quite clean and the lady managing it is very charming and I guess she... more

We have stayed at the Bema quite a few times now and most recently last month, we love it and it has been recently decorated. It is always spotless and the staff are really friendly. They carried our bags for us and when a better room is empty than the one you booked they will let you stay in it... more

We stayed 2 nights and it was very disappointing to say the least. Not clean and they mentioned a mouse problem to us. I was optimistic given the reviews, but room 4 was dirty and the stairs were crazy. I would never again stay there. more

I stayed here in June 2006, and it was a pretty nice place, our room was very large and had a wah basin and a toilet next door. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast in bed was a real treat . Though I think it this service may have more to do with lack of space for a breakfast... more

Our family had a very pleasant two night stay at this hotel. The room, linens, and towels were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, it is quiet and close to the city, especially the Van Gogh and Rijks Museums, it has good access to the highway/ring road, and the low cost long term parking... more

This is an affordable place to stay, run by very friendly and helpful staff. It is quite central to everything, and in a quiet part of town. Breakfast is adequate, and other simple meals can also be ordered, which we found helpful on our first arrival there, as restaurants were not in the immediate vicinity. We enjoyed our stay here... more

I stayed there with my boyfriend in room #5, Sept. 2003. The room was small and a little in need of a makeover, but clean and happy. According to the website, it looks like the hotel has been redone since then. It has a lot of character, and tasty breakfast. The location was good, if you are interested in spending... more

Hotel Bema was a decent place to stay. It was clean and the people running the hotel were nice and polite. Our room had a general feel of grunge though, the rug was old and gross. The bed was seemingly clean though. The sink in the room seemed clean as well. It was fine for what it was. I was... more

Positives--extremely quiet, no noise at all. Had a window overlooking a courtyard of apartments, a nice view. The room and shared bathroom/showers was clean. Breakfast in bed was nice and decent, nothing special. Very good price. Great location across from Museumplein. Negatives--this is the smallest room I have ever seen. Barely enough room to walk around the bed. The decor... more
