Booked this hotel purely due to location and cheap price for location. Pictures online looked great so was looking forward to the stay and didn’t think there would be any issues. Fast forward to us arriving, the stairs outside alone are an accident waiting to happen. When we got in, young boy at reception wearing ear pods so not fully listening to us. Didn’t take them out the whole time we were speaking. Took £100 damage deposit which I was shocked at (especially after seeing the rest of the “hotel” I think they’ve caused enough damage themselves). Anyway, get checked in, told where our room is and asked if we need help with luggage upstairs. We laugh and say no cause it’s only hand luggage… well. what a mistake that was. The stair case is like something out of faulty towers with hand rail about coming off in your hands as you hold on for dear life climbing the steepest, thinnest stairs you’ve ever come across. Get to our room 204 and there’s a huge extension cable sitting right in front of fire extinguisher. The location of the door looked like a wee corner storage cupboard door. On entry to the room this is exactly what it was. A small double bed, desk, and a dolls house sized wardrobe and a tv. Standard - fine. The room was tiny, the desk was filthy, the kettle was filthy and glasses were water stained. I didn’t even want to look in the bathroom, however only think that looked nice was the sink! Very very small, very basic and NOTHING like the pictures! The window may as well have been a sheet of paper as could feel the wind coming through and the room was cold. Walls were VERY thin could hear everything about you and around you. There was a constant banging but could not work out where this was coming from. Thankfully we got our damage deposit back and went to another hotel across the road. Totally killed the vibe for our first night. Would NEVER ever book here again

Delightfully surprised I had a canal view room with a tiny balcony and French doors to open for fresh air. This hotel is in the perfect location for sightseeing, museums, and easy access to the tram. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Probably the worst hotel you can stay at while visiting Amsterdam. Rooms are small, dirty and with no ac. Stairs to the rooms is a joke, be prepared to climb.. Breakfast is the worst, boiled eggs hotdogs and toast. 😂 But the worst part is that i had hotelstaff walk in unannounced at 00:30 when me and my girlfriend was sleeping. There is no excuse for that and the only reason was that he was checking if anybody was staying in the room, super wierd and creepy. DON’T stay here, the only good thing about this hotel is the location. Super expensive for what it is, could get a five star hotel for this price in sweden.

Great hotel, room was clean and had everything we needed with a nice view of the canal. Great selection at breakfast Our flight had been cancelled so missed a day but the lady at reception couldn’t of made us feel more welcome and helped to make the best of our stay, would definitely stay again!

am not plaeased over may stay in Quientin Hotel Amsterdam. I arrived on friday 24 august 2023 to participitate in ESC congress. When i arrived one personal in the mainway showed me the way to the reception.Few steps upp and I met one personal in the reception who asked me to completel some informations and told me that I must pay about 80 euro as a tax for the city .I was chocked ,I did not know about it .In the beginning I found bisarr to pay another 80 euro when the resevation for 4 night costed about 1700 euro.I refused in the beginning because some of my coleugues in other hotells did not pay such a fee but when I read the reservations voucher carefully ”the small crowded text” I knew that this tax should be paid. I paied the fee that he wanted via my credit card and he gave me the key to the room och told me that there was en elevator and that I need to go to port no 68 ,room no. 1424. I did like he said and I became very surprised because room 1424 is very lilte, without being very accurate measuring about 2 meter by 2,5 meter with dusch and toilet inside ,with low cieling and narrow little window,i thing tat this romm was the highest room ,may be near the roof of the building. The cieling is enough low to get tightness over my chest beasue the rum was so tight and so dark och with very minimum standrad . I did not like the room.I went to the reception again and I told the same reception personal that this is a bad rum to live in and that I want to change it to another rum. He said its fully booked I said there should some solutions ,I get tightnes over my chest and i cannot spend 4 nights in such small room.I paid momey for a single rum och i want the rum accoring to resevation. He said that this the rum that I have booked. I said: no this is not the one I booked and this rum shuld not be rent as a hotel rum to anybody . He said: I cannot do anything but if you pay more I can upgrade the rum. I said :I want the room which my agency booked and not this room. He said :all hotel rooms in Amsterdam are like this rum. I said :no you have wrong and you are not telling me the truth , I cannot believe that all hotel rooms in Amsterdam are so bad.I feel I have been cheated and will cotact the police to help me. He said: I will help you to get the police here,I will take contact with them instead of you. I said: please do that He said :I will call the police to kick you out. I said :you can not say something like this and the police cannot kick me out as you want because I paid about 2000 euro för 4 nights and I want my right ,the person who claims his right can not be kicked out by the police ,please call the police. he said : I will not do that,if you want do it yourself I said:but you have just said you will call the police ,why you retreat please call them I need thier help,if you dont please give me the number to the police and I will call them my self He said: its universal number in Europ 112 I called 112 and under 2 minutes I explained to the police the situation that I had and that I have been cheated but the police did not take this matter as en emergemcy matter and did not come. At this moment I had no choice just to spend the night att that hotel with saddnes and with tightnes av my chest .Directly i left the hotel to the city to get some space ,i did not want to get back to the room ,but later in the evening i get back and direktly when i came to the room I coles my eyes to avoid seeing the very low cielijng and the room. The day efter i met another personal in the reception and he said that he could not do anything because its was fully booked the whole week. I called the agenccy that bookdd the hotel and they make notes to avoid booking of this hotel in the future and gave the oppotunity to make another boking in anotjer hotel ,I refused becasue a dis not ant another victim to be cheated like me , I sepnt all the 4 nights in the hotel with long periods of closed eyes.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We arrived at the hotel to very unfriendly staff who we encountered throughout our stay, I had emailed months before our arrival that it was my boyfriends birthday whilst we are staying and if there was any chance we could be placed in the newer building just to make it more special for him and was replied to with they would try their best. Instead we were given a tiny, dirty room with electric cables for the kettle and bedside lamps tied together with tape (VERY DANGEROUS), black skirting boards and a bed with one pillow. I asked reception for another pillow on our first night and almost an hour later was brought towels to our room instead. The lift is the dodgiest thing ever, it started to move upwards without the doors closing, we had to stop it with our foot and sounded like the cables were going to snap at any point! The toiletries inside were appalling, no shower gel and half filled soap bottles. Upon checkout we wanted to leave our bags with reception before we headed to the airport, bags are kept in a room near reception with no door, names for the luggage or security so quite frankly anyone could come and take your stuff. We are still waiting for our £100 refund of our deposit that we paid on arrival. Do not stay here, there is much much nicer hotels in Amsterdam!

No air conditioning so we were constantly sweating, room was dirty with cobwebs and stains, lift was faulty and sounded like it could collapse any moment, staff weren’t welcoming or friendly - acted as though we were a hindrance. Only good thing i can say is that the location was good and very easy to get around. Defo not worth the money

Today with the storm we booked 2 rooms one directly on the site and one on booking.com only to be told they had been over booked and none of us would receive a refund this was also after making us wait for an hour they were however happy to keep our money and offered no sign of a refund stating that it was nothing to do with them. Simply appalling we essentially payed 210 for a coffee in reception.
