The hostel was good & clean, very quiet, which was ok as we were travelling with friend, not so good if your a solo traveller wanting to meet people. the location was a bit far from the city centre, but with the trams stops so close it was ok to get around. My room was bad enough, really hot and no opening window. There were fans however, which was useful to disperse the disgusting smell that came from the toilet out into the corridor. We stayed here in late Sept 2009 and it seemed like a really nice, cheap place to stay....until we woke up at 4am to discover bed bugs crawling all over the walls and in the sheets. Just back from Amsterdam. I chose a dormitory room to save money and it was ok. Shared with 7 other people. I was a bit surprised (not unpleasantly) to find it was mixed sex. Stay away from this hotel if you're not a backpacker between 18-22 years! This is not a nice low budget hotel, this is a youth hostel and it is called a stopover not hotel. We checked out after 2 hours because we needed a hotel not a dirty, smelly room with a bunk bed. more
