Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is a a prime location easy walking distance to all the attractions. Unfortunately there was obviously a lot of renovations going on as the view from our "very tiny room" was of scaffolding and the window was covered in cement!! The room would have been more suited... more

I will start off by stating that the mistake was mine and mine alone. Meant to book this hotel for July and mistakenly made the reservation for June. The hotel's policy is to charge for one night, in my case, 100 euros for a no-show. I will take responsibility for this. Once I learned of the mistake, and unfortunately after... more

The only good thing going for this hotel is location; it is a few seconds away from most important museums. The service is beyond bad, they are totally unresponsive, smile to your face but do not do anything about what you ask. One night we had a waterfall in our room because of the rain outside, literally all night we... more

Stayed here for 3 nights early June. We got a newly refurbished room, very clean and modern, flat tv, new , but small tiled bathroom and mini bar. I knew before arriving there was building work taking place, easy to find hotel with the scaffolding on it!, our room was on the ground next to the scaffolding lift! 7am the... more

It was a nightmare! I stayed at this hotel for three night. First of all, there is a lot of renovation causing troubles from very early in the morning. No sound proof at all. You can even listen other people outside the room. My room was literally a shoe box. No space for nothing, not even for putting my luggage... more

Just back yesterday. Location very good as next to Rijksmuseum and other major attractions (Vondelpark, van gogh, heineken, canal trip, tram stop) and within easy walking distance of all others - red-light, flower market, Liedesplein, Dam Square etc. All true about hotel - renovations bad on Friday a.m. so we were moved to ground floor which was far better. Rooms... more

Don't stay at the Apollo Museum unless you like the sound of power equipment and hammering. There are major renovations on-going and the holtel staff will not offer any compensation for the inconvienence. The rooms are very small (8 feet x 12 feet!) and some are even at half-basement level. Good location but not good value for what we paid. more

We chose this after looking up many reviews on Amsterdam Hotels. Nice location but a few probs: we had booked through an online site so when we arrived we had a room infront of a big skip filled with rubbish. Very small bathroom- the frosted glass door is a constant feature with all the bathrooms. They did change us to... more

This hotel would have been fine if it hadn't been under renovation. On the weekend when they weren't working it was fine but on week days the banging and noise that started early in the morning was a horrible way to start the day. The staff were very unapologetic and unsympathetic. No compensation was offered, not even a complimentary coffee... more

When we arrived at the hotel it was fully scaffolded. The thought of an early 80s spanish building site ran through my mind, but once inside i was more than a little surprised. The lobby and check in area were very bright clean and modern, the staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was excellent if a... more
