A friend told me to stay in Patou Amsterdam. Been there with my wife for two nights (a shopping and museum weekend). I have come to realize that in a vacation hotel, I value location over quality of room. Hotel Patou has a fantastic location. It is away from the filthy stinky main tourist drag, so you don't have noise (2 minutes walk from Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh and Stedelijk), but right on the main tram line that connects to the Station... more
