Having previously stayed at Hotel Den Helder I mistakenly booked myself into Hotel Wienerhof, a sister hotel. There was no greeting at reception, just took my name and handed me the key to my room. I do think a friendly welcome at hotel receptions makes such a difference. To get to the bedrooms you have to go by the restaurant... more

This would be a fine hotel for a young person traveling by bus or train and on a limited budget. It has a very odd layout. You must go thru a smokey bar to get to reception. You then go to the back of the smokey restaurant where staff take breaks, thru a door, down a hall past the back... more
