We stayed in the small town of Overveen, near Haarlem for one night as it was close to the venue of a family wedding (at the Oranjerie). Hotel staff were very helpfull over the phone (perfect English) when booking and when we checked in. There isn't much to do in Overveen itself but it is a quiet alternative to the larger towns and only 28 minutes on the train to Amsterdam Central and even closer to Haarlem. It is a very friendly small hotel. The restaurant did a very good dinner. Overall a clean, good value 3* hotel in a quiet typically Dutch town. more
