Restaurant and breakfast areas are really good; restaurant is def. 4-5 starts and breakfast is server in a large airy and bright room and offers a lot of choices. Lobby personnel is a bit slow, just like the elevator. Single room was very small, and I guess it was in a part of the hotel that has not been renovated... more

We stayed here for an overnight stop on our way to Germany. Even though there was a huge party going on when we arrived everyone was super accommodating. The Restaurant was excellent, very gourmet and accommodating with a special meal made for me because I am a vegetarian. We enjoyed our dinner very much. It was presented beautifully as well.... more

Last week I visited Golden Tulip Berghotel in Amersfoort! There have been many changes in the hotel since I last visited, about a year ago. The restaurant was renovated, the terrace is much bigger and luxury than it was before, the hotel room was just renovated and the meeting rooms where comfortable, even with airco! This was always a friendly, warm place, ruined all too often by bullheadedness. I can’t figure out who designed it; the pool is about the size of a bathtub; the “New” section, for example has doors that do not lock automatically; if you forget to lock up, your room is open to the public. Beware : this hotel grants itself 4 stars, whereas I only see 3 stars on the different on-line reservation websites. It certainly doesn’t deserve the 4th star!
