Stayed here for 3nights in mid June and had a great time. The hotel is set on the grounds of a lovely park surrounded by a lake away from the hustle and bustle of Utrecht centre. Renovated rooms are ok but the service is really way below standards of a 4 stars. When the internet doesn't work, you get a "call the cable company" and when there is no hot water (sic !!!) you get a "you can shower at the pool), without anyone feeling sorry for you. I spent a week at the Mitland while working in Utrecht during the summer. My initial impression was very negative, although things did improve over the course of the week. A large chunk of the hotel was in the process of having its dated balconies demolished. And the air conditioning was out of order, not to be fixed for weeks.... more

First of all be aware, due to its very active convention centre it is not always easy to find a hotel in Utrecht. Try to book as far in advance as possible.
