stayed at malie hotel for two nights in november 2009. the room was basic and somewhat old-fashioned, but everything from radiator to bathroom appliances and the wireless internet worked perfectly. internet was fast and the signal was good even on the 3rd floor. staff members i encountered were nice and helpful. the hotel is located within a walking distance from... more

Stayed 4 nights - staff made me very welcome. The hotel is just outside the centre of Utrecht 7 mins by tram which are every few minutes, or 8 Euros taxi ride. -Great for being able to have both the buzz of the City close by, and a hotel in a quiet suburb. - Free Wifi Reccomended. more

I really liked this hotel! Beautiful elegant old building. Friendly staff at the front desk, who speak perfect english. I also really liked the lending library where you can either borrow a book for the evening or swap it with one of yours. There was bike parking outside the hotel - I was nervous it wasn't secure enough but had... more

Building and room: Expect clean, well furnished, moderate sized rooms in an elegant older building. The lobby, dining room and terrace have the feel of a more expensive property, while the rooms are more modest. Bed was comfortable. It was a rare pleasure to relax in a bathtub instead of a shower. Location: Hotel Mailie is on a quiet side... more

I was very disappointed in this hotel - advertised as just a stones throw from the heart of Utrecht, it is in fact a considerable taxi drive from the heart and the train station. Too far to walk. No dining facilities (other than for breakfast) and a fair walk to find anywhere to eat. Room was ordinary. Overall little to... more

This hotel is midway between a B&B and a hotel. It has desk service like a hotel, but feels like a B&B. It is on a quiet street about 10 euros taxi ride away from the train station. Good internet service, but they block access to maintaining websites, for the very few who might be interested. Breakfast (included) is perfectly... more

I enjoyed my stay at the Malie hotel. I had a twin room which was a perfectively reasonable size with extremely comfortable beds! Bathroom was basic but also good. The room was clean and tidy. Our room was also very quiet as we were at the back of the hotel but as the hotel is on a quiet street, I... more

Stayed here for 3 nights in Feb 2006. Pleasant small hotel on a quiet sidestreet about 10 mins walk from centre of city. Staff very helpful and friendly.Only disappointment was size of room - we booked a deluxe room but it was very small and facilities were pretty basic. more

The hotel claims to be "a stone's throw" from the Cathedral .... only if one has a very powerful slingshot! On the other hand the centre of town was extremely crowded so if you're looking for a little peace and quiet this might suit you. The manager was less than helpful when I arrived to find a step-ladder in the... more

Took the Eurostar, 1st class, to Brussels and transferred to the Thalys and arrived at the loveliest hotel in UTRECHT & AMSTERDAM AREA, the MAILE HOTEL a medieval town on the canals, just minutes from Amsterdam. The Dutch have the transportation problem solved. You either bike, take the bus or the tram, or the rail. All are inexpensive. We spent... more
