Hotel with charm from the old days. The room was spacious but worn. Minibar included. The shower was extremely inconvenient and plumbing poor. more

My wife and I stayed at the Metropole for 5 nights in October 2009. After reading MANY prior Tripadvisor reviews about the shabby nature of many of the rooms, upon check-in I requested a "renovated room." We had arrived for check-in at 9am, and the clerk said that we could have either a regular room right NOW or we could... more

We have just returned from a weekend trip to Brussels. We flew with Ryanair which was excellent value - no frills but no problems either. No queueing to book in or waiting around for luggage as it was cabin sized which was plenty for a weekend. We thought we would choose a good hotel as the flights had been so... more

This was the 2nd time I'd stayed at The Metropole. I love the entrance/reception of this hotel, beautiful & impressive always. Well located for Grand Place etc, nearest metro is De Brouckere. Many restaurants/bars nearby. My room was very big with nice bathroom too. Collegues mentioned that the room were 'dated' by they are in keeping with the age of... more

I'm booked here as my usual hotel is fully booked and heresay made me rather anxious to see it all for myself. Well, it surely is a beautiful hotel with huge rooms. The history is still very alive in the hotel, which is a good thing (it's not that things have gotten too dated). The staff at checkin was very... more

Returned for my second stay during the week of 18-22 Sept. Awaiting for me in my room, was a letter recognizing and appreciating me as returning guest to the hotel, which was very classy! Also, a free bottle of wine and of course the included daily minibar replacements. Sweeeeet! Hotel: Luxurious lobby which is still partially under construction, but the... more

The lobby is amazing. Rooms spacious, Breakfast excellent, spoilt for choice. The mini bar is a nice touch but a shame there is not more choice just beer & coke.. Unfortunately there are no Tea & Coffee making facilities in the rooms, not everyone wants to use room service. Great Location the hotel is within easy reach of the Grand... more

We loved this hotel which is perfectly situated in the centre of Brussels with a metro literally outside the door. Our superior room was very comfortable with an enormous bed. Slightly musty smell when you entered the room, a bit noisy at the front of the hotel but this didn't bother us too much. The ambiance of the hotel is... more

We had a pleasant stay at the Metropole in Brussels though I would dispute it claiming to be a 5 star hotel. Starting on the positives, the lobby is amazing, the breakfast is excellent, huge choice. The room was ART deco and interesting in a faded kind of way. The things that could be improved that could raise this hotel... more
