This hotel is ideally situated to explore Brussels. It is Art Deco in style with a lovely bar and pavement area in which to relax. The most outstanding thing about the hotel was the exceptional service we experienced from all members of staff, especially the concierges. Nothing was too much trouble. They were brilliant. We ate in the (expensive!) restaurant... more

We stayed at the Metropole for a couple of nights and found the hotel pretty nice for what it is, Brussels' only 19th century hotel. The ground floor is exceptional, a real example of old world charm. Reception and staff is efficient and friendly. We were originally placed at a suite with interior view, which we did not like that... more

Just got back from a night in Brussels at Hotel Metropole. Hotel is in a great spot, really close to Grand Place but a few minutes walk from all the really touristy places. Located across from a movie theater and really close to grocery stores, etc. Hotel lobby is absolutely gorgeous, with a great lounge and cafe outside that is... more

I cannot fathom how this hotel brags in its literature that it is five star. It reminded me of an old Holiday Inn badly in need of a facelift. Damp, seedy, tired, worn carpets, bedspreads that date from 1965, and heavy army blankets. All this for approx $400 a night (~255 Euro). What a rip-off. The desk staff urged us... more

We stayed in six different hotels in Europe. This was the very best and cost less than some of the others. The building is old but beautiful. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and we had our own private balcony. The breakfast was spectacular - the best we had anywhere and the front desk personnel couldn't have been nicer. I... more

This is my first time in Hotel Metropole in Brussels. I've stayed in Windsor, Radisson SAS and Scandic Grand Place before. The rate is great, especially with the breakfast. The public spaces quite unique and well maintained. Location perhaps the best for sightseeing in the city. I have a huge double room for single use, a bit shabby, but I... more

Just came back from a bank holiday weekend break with 8 others. Hotel was nice and is located in a nice part of town within walking distance of everything. Beer was good, food was good so all good on that front. One word of warning though, there are pickpockets everywhere and they are proffessionals !! I would stay here again... more

We were staying at the Métropole for a long weekend paying 170,- per night for a "privilege" double room including breakfast. The rate offered by the hotel directly was better than from any of the online booking sites. The hotel was very well located for sightseeing, next to the opera house and close to the main square as well as... more

This stylish hotel oozes a bygone age, with chandeliers and mirrors everywhere. We had a truly huge room (on fifth floor) with a lovely marble bathroom. The service matches the style!!! Location wise it is great too, being just 10 mins stroll from the Grand Place, Fish Market (restaurants) and Rue Neuve (shopping)....and as a bonus a metro/tram stop is... more

After reading reviews and knowing how hotels market themselves I highly doubted I was going to end up with a great room. I thought for sure as a single traveler I was going to be shelved in a dingy and dark room from the 1960's. I had a heck of a time getting from the Train Station (Brussels Midi) as... more
