We have lived in Brussels and stayed in many of its hotels. We chose this hotel for its beautiful and convenient location, and it has a lovely facade and pleasant lobby etc. Slightly eccentric but convenient parking accessed via a lift for the car directly underneath the hotel. However, we cut short our stay and left as soon as possible,... more

We stayed at this hotel in February and really enjoyed it. The staff were polite and the rooms comfortable if not particularly stylish. The location is first-rate - within walking distance of the centre of Brussels and the Place du Grand Sablon itself has some nice restaurants and cafes, and interesting (if expensive!) shops. We did have some trouble with... more

Stayed here for the weekend and the service was v hit&miss - when we arrived the receptionist was quite unhelpful - informing us that he only had a double room on the smoking floor (although we had booked a non-smoking double room!) - when we left, another receptionist was quite nice and effecive - the porters were awful - they... more

first of all, the rooms are very old. For example the blankets are really old school. I even had a room close to the service area that had some kind of pump or engine running all night! Staff was as unfriendly as it gets. Also not very helpful. Nobody will be able to give you basic instructions to log into... more

We went to Brussels for a long weekend travelling from London on Eurostar. This is a really nice hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable and warm. Oh and the hot/cold water flow in the shower was fine once you had a fiddle with the taps to get it to the temperature you wanted it stayed constant with a good steady... more

I spent just one night here, on my own, and that was more than enough. The service was very poor, with snide and superior reception staff. The room was cold and dirty and the bed uncomfortable. The shower was woefully inadequate - a dribble of water with wildy fluctuating temperature control Breakfast was nice enough, though tagain the service was... more

I stayed at the Jolly for 4 nights around New Years. One of the drawbacks of booking a hotel in city one has never visited is that one never knows the layout of the city. Brussels is big and has lower and upper portions. Fortunately, a friend from there recommended the Jolly. This is a genteel hotel, slightly older, cerrtainly... more

We stayed at the Jolly 6 nights over a week in early October. It's a comfortable hotel, though the rooms are nothing spectacular even at the 150 Euro conference rate (including breakfast - always ask whether it is included in your rate) that I received at the first part of our stay (we wound up paying 174 Euros on our... more

We stayed there for just one night in a junior suite for 3, which was very spacious and had plenty of closet space. Big renovated bathroom/shower and a separate powder room. Room itself was decorated in traditional style and needs some updating, otherwise very comfortable and clean. Free internet access in the business centre was much appreciated. Breakfast not included,... more

The breakfast buffet is not to be missed. Appreciated the free internet service. The rooms aren't fancy, but it's nice to have a minibar in the room. This hotel is in a perfect location in Brussels, a fabulous part of town but away from the uber touristy areas as well as the uber expensive Avenue Louise just a couple of... more
