Lovely hotel, stayed for one night and was upgraded without even being told fantastic suprise when we entered our room, have no complaints certainly not for the price although I would imagine it is more expensive during the week as it is in the bussiness area and is a nice 10-15 minute walk into the center. Overall a good hotel... more

Dear Guest, We thank you for your lovely comments on our hotel and we are please to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Brussels. Indeed our hotel is located in the upper town and close from many tourist attractions; only 5 minutes walk from the Grand Sablon and 2 minutes from the Royal Palace. We have really special interesting...

Spent a weekend at the Stanhope in Feb, the staff was welcoming and very helpful, we were automatically upgraded from a double to a double deluxe. Dont bother with the breakfast, its too expensive.. the hotel is a 15 minute walk from the center (grand place etc) but it was nice to be away from the typical touristy area. The... more

Dear guest, We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and your nice remarks will be forwarded to our staff. Our breakfast rate is comparatively with other 5-stars hotels about the same and with all the efforts to serve quality products worth to try. At weekends we offer the possibility to reserve a breakfast voucher in...

Booked the Stanhope through Expedia for a one night stay in Brussels. I was looking for an above average hotel in a decent location for the sights. The hotel looks quite grand when you pull up and the lobby/entrance is very nice. A lovely courtyard with the most beautiful magnolia tree sits outside the reception area. Our room was on... more

Dear Guest, Thank you for the nice comments you did on our lobby, terrace with Magnolia, location and Molton Brown products. We are sorry to hear that your stay has been disturbed by the traffic noise and we would like to inform you that we have beautiful rooms located at the garden side that can be requested at the moment...

my brother and I spent 3 nights in this hotel on Feb 2008. It was a great building with beautiful room decoration however the staff were not that helpful. They were friendly, but didn't reach 5-star level. I can understand there might be some misunderstanding for people who's not native English speaker to communicate with each other but their attitude... more

I recently stayed at the Stanhope for one night on a business trip. The hotel's lobby and general decor is very nice. The staff at check-in were helpful. An additional person came over to service me as other staff were busy. On check-out again, they were swift and professional. My positive view is somewhat dampened by the size of the... more

Dear Guest, Thank you for the positive comments you did on our service level. We always want to keep close contact with our guests. Some of our rooms are small because we want to keep an English cosy style with a lot of antiques. Our deluxe rooms and suites are larger than the standards . Our library bar is in...

Booked a Eurostar week-end (Fri/Sat nights) through lastminute.com. Wonderful experience, the hotel was beautifully kept just as the website photos show. Fantastic room - we paid a bit extra for a de-luxe room which gave us a separate living room. Amazing bathroom - his and hers basins, not to mention a shower and separate bath and shower! Very friendly and... more

I booked a Birthday Package through the hotel website, which included an upgrade, breakfast, champagne in the room and a small gift from the hotel, for € 139,--. The room was lovely; comfy couch, 2 tv's (reception was so-so), seperate toilet, real roomy bathroom (2 showers!) and a good sturdy bed. Service: in a bilingual country like Belgium (particularly the... more

The Stanhope hotel is a gorgeous hotel, well worth the 5* rating. It can be a little confusing when you arrive as you need to walk through a wide hallway and find your way to reception without the help of signs, not what you need after the maddening experience of the train station if you arrive by Eurostar. The reception... more

Excellent bedrooms and suites which can be good value for money at weekends and on balance enough to justify a return visit if you want to be in that part of Brussels. The public areas are pleasant too. The big weakness lies in the service. A sub-standard buffet breakfast is often poorly stocked and staff are reluctant to meet even... more

This is my first review but I felt the Stanhope desrved one! First the good points. The hotel is beautifully appointed, the standard rooms are lovely and the beds very comfortable. If you like shopping, which I do!, the location is great for the shops. Also there is a greta Italian restaurant next door. Now the mediocre. The location is... more
