In the past several years my husband & I have stayed at the Welcome a night here & there. We do agree for the most part with the positive & negative many reviews we read. This October we checked in & were very displeased with our room & I told the desk clerk I hate the room, he gave us... more

This place was such a treat! Every room is decorated and captures the essence of an exotic and far-away country! (Our room was called "Zanzibar") It's whimsical, exciting and fun just to explore the incredible details that have gone into creating these "settings". Owners Michael and Sophie Smeesters define the word "hospitality". The breakfast is to die for! All the... more

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Welcome for two nights in July 2009 as part of an Inter-Rail trip through Belgium, Luxembourg and France. We booked directly with the hotel as we found this to be the most cost effective way. There are two huge plus points for Hotel Welcome – firstly the competitive price in a city of... more

I stayed here almost a month ago. Hotel has an elevator (lift) which is very different than most of the other smaller family owned European hotels don't have one. Each room has its own theme based on select locations around the world. Room was good in general though on the first night; it was freezing since the heater wasn't working.... more

The Welcome Hotel has decorated each room with items from different locations around the world. We stayed 1 night in early October in the Istanbul room and one night in late October in the Thailand room. Both rooms had good beds with lots of pillows, extra blankets, windows that opened, and good bathrooms with hot water. Both rooms were pretty... more

We were fortunate enough to spend a night in the Welcome hotel – the Silk Road suite. This suite is breathtakingly beautiful and gigantic. It’s up one and ½ flight of stairs from the entrance. You walk in and to left is an enormous bathroom, enclosed within its own room. Huge jetted Jacuzzi tub, full shower and 2 sinks. Also... more

When visiting this hotel do not expect the ordinary. The owner goes of his way to maintain a unique property and does so with a trait frequently missing in larger chains, genuine hospitality. My husband spend time in the "Egyptian" room and as the name implies, it was quite exotic. The generous breakfasts and attention to small details such as... more

Loved the idea of themed rooms. We were assigned to Saigon, a small room with a double bed. Note that the photos on the website are not quite accurate, but it was ok. My husband loved the decorations, but I felt that things felt rather run-down. For instance, there were exposed electrical outlets, spots on the walls that were patched... more

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The hotel was well located with numerous bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. All the major attractions, shops etc were within 10 minutes walk. The owners were friendly and the breakfast included was excellent with lots of variety. It became important to stock up in... more
