booked this hotel over the internet through booking.com. Walked from the station to the hotel to be told that they had double booked us, and would we like them to find us another hotel. This he did and thankfully he paid for our taxi. It would be nice if he had told the taxi driver the right hotel that he... more

We stayed there for 5 days. The hotel is in an older neighboorhood located close to the gare du midi. The 10 min. walk from the train station was a bit scary at night but totally ok during the day. We tought the place du jeu de balle and rue haute were nice areas to walk around and to eat... more

First of all, let me tell you that I have been traveling along Europe for years, so I know what to expect when I visit an European city. Excuse me for this comment, but sometimes people are not aware of European standards regarding accommodations and get (badly) surprised. This is my story. To begin, we had to pay in advance... more

I last minute picked a hotel to stay the night before catching my flight back to New York. I wish I had read up on this hotel further before booking it. It was close to Midi Station but hard to find at night. We arrived to a room that smelt like it had been painted that day & the window... more

Galia hotel best quality is the position: if you get a front room at high floors you'll have a wonderful viwe of the daily Flea Market, which starts at dawn. It it also near the Gare du Midi (Eurostars south station) and not far from the Grand Place ( fifteen/twenty minutes walking easy). Rooms are quite large and originals, all... more

Friendly staff, comfortable (though not sophisticated rooms). The shower was small and a bit brutal, but the breakfast spread in the curio-filled cafe downstairs was fantastic and more than made up for it. In a good location near some nice restaurants and shops and close to the main tourist sites. more

We had a wonderful stay at Galia. The English speaking staff let me practice my French. The cafe has a wonderful shabby chic decor and large buffet. The porch was a great people watching location. I liked the neighborhood, which felt like we were in a real neighborhood, not a tourist area. The square, with its kooky flea market, is... more

We booked this hotel directly one month before our trip and got an email confirmation. However, 2 days before arrival, they sent us an email informing us that they made a mistake and they did not have a room for us. We called the hotel twice and talked to two different people. They both claimed they had no clue and... more

The room was a standard, small room. Don't expect anything fancy. The bathroom positively closet like. Winding maze-like corridors to get to the rooms. All fine if you don't plan on spending much time in the hotel, but the breakfast was terrible. I didn't expect to face processed cheese slices early in the morning. Nor the container of Nesquick hot... more

We found this hotel to be very friendly, choosing it because of the review Feb 2003. It provides all we need for a short stay in Brussells. Great view of the square and 5 minutes from Metro Halle Port ( n.b. use the day card for your transport - easy to get from the automatic machines ) Relaxed comfortable welcome,... more
