We spent last weekend in Bruges and we were very happy with our choice of hotel. Hotel Die Swaene is centrally located in the historical part of the town, yet very quiet and along one of the famous canals. Our room was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated, beds were comfortable, turndown service very adequate. The staff was extremely helpful and... more

Hotel die swaene had been recommended to us by friends and we were absolutely thrilled. Our deluxe room no 34 met up to our expectations : spacious, well chosenfabrics, nice furniture, oak flooring and wonderful view on the canal. But most of all the ambiance of the hotel is special. Cosy bar and relaxing swimming pool and the pergolaKaffee severs... more

Well, the hotel is definitely tired a bit, I was wondering when reading that it's a member of "small luxury hotels of the world" - it's not exactly luxury what I found in Swaene. But it wasn't that bad either - especially taking into consideration the cheap rate I got : € 125,-. The room was big enough for me... more

The suite which we were staying in was very disappointing. The best you could say that it was spacious. Beyond that though it was exceptionally tired and dated. In a world where some truly fabulous boutique hotels are available, a hotel that boasts an uncomfortable bed, miniscule (very old) TV, bathroom with barely enough toiletries for one person, dated furnishings... more

I really loved this hotel! I adored everyone that worked there. They're so wonderful and they add a special touch of kindness and charm to everything they do. They would be happy to accommodate any request! The location was perfect. The rooms were spotless and large. The lobby/breakfast suite were warm and accommodating with a fantastic breakfast spread. The free... more

Although it is a SLH, they have a room without a mini-bar, and front desk does not realize they have such a room. You will be treated nicely if you stay in a premium room, but not so with a standard room. Our room doorway was often used as a temporary vacuum cleaner storage, and we had to step over... more

We stayed one night in April 2007 in a royal suite. The hotel is charming and romantic. However, some areas are beginning to show wear and tear and need some upkeep. Our room was really three rooms and very large by european standards. Included fireplace, large bathroom with sunken tub and overlooked a canal. Included good breakfast. Staff was very... more

I stayed here with my partner just after Easter in a superior room, we were surprised and delighted to have a canal view as our room was at the front of the hotel. Booking in was easy and the staff very warm and friendly, we were shown around the hotel and then to our room where our bags had already... more

The hotel was absolutely delightful, I was initially worried as we were staying in an annex accross the canal from the main hotel, however it worked out excellently for us. The room was first class and very luxurious, the view over the canal was great - as was the cafe and terrace, which was on our side of the canal.... more

My spouse and I spent 2 nights at this small hotel overlooking the canal. We are used staying at a Small Luxury Hotel if possible but this one we particularly liked. It oozes old charm. Our room was meticulously clean and well decorated with antique furniture, fantastic fabrics, fireplace and very comfy beds. Bathroom wasn't very big but had all... more
