To be clear, this is a backpackers hostel that charges rates at that level. We stayed in a shared dorm and for the price its exactly what you'd expect. We paid just over £100 for 2 nights for 4 of us - a bargain when the walk into the centre is about 5mins. Showers are what you'd expect in a... more

The hotel is called Snuffel Backpacker Hostel which has a different name from this website, but the address is the same. The pictures on this website are quite different from the real situations now. We booked a double room. We had to haul our luggage along the steep and long stairs upstairs. The room is extremely tiny and not that... more

Snuffel is located within the Egg, so you never have to walk too far to major and classic attractions. It is easy to locate. Across is a supermarket where you can get basic groceries, just less brand varieties. Within walking distance, outside the wall, there is a big supermarket where you can get everything. Snuffel has bicycle rental, tours and... more

I found Snuffel on a website...as the recommended hostel for anyone travelling to Bruges and looking for inexpensive, well-located accommodation. Snuffel is non-descript from the outside but when you walk through the door, you almost immediately feel welcome. The guy behind the desk/bar served us right away..and made sure we knew about the 25 kinds of Belgian beer available...at excellent... more

Fell in love with Snuffel. Great location in an even greater city. The rooms were clean and the staff was so helpful in giving advice, directions, etc. Snuffel has a great bar that the locals even choose to hang in. The whole place has a great laid back vibe and I met some terrific people there. The free breakfast is... more

Nice hostel in bruges.. close to the main sites. The climb up the stairs is kinda scary.. but the rooms were nice. the common area is not much except the downstairs bar which is nice and the locals hang out there.. (so u know it is the hottest place in bruges). The staff were super nice and the place was... more

We booked a four bunk room as a private room for two. Bunks were a bit small for tall people but the room had an en suite shower (unbelievably cold in March), which meant we didn't have to use the main washrooms that were much less convenient. Service was friendly, breakfast was decent (toast, cereal etc.) Decent price, fairly quiet... more

The rooms are reasonably clean and secure. There are in-room lockers for each person. The hostel is also well located: perhaps a seven minute walk from the market square. My only negative comment is that the showers are located very inconveniently. To get to them from, say, one of the corner rooms on the third floor, it is necessary to... more

Getting on at the train station-make sure you tell the bus driver you want to go to the Snuffel. Otherwise he won't stop. This was one of the friendliest hostels I've stayed in. Keep in mind it is one of the stops on the "busabout" Europe tours, so large groups come and go every 3 days or so. The good... more

This really is a cool place to stay. Beds are comfortable and the rooms were clean. Lockers are downstairs and rooms are upstairs but only guests have access to rooms. If you go in winter prepare to get cold... you have to walk through the bar and the garden to get to the showers... that is a bit weird but... more
