We spent three nights here and enjoyed our stay. Maggie has a lovely friendly manner and both she and Gilbert make you feel very welcome in their home. The house is not more than ten minutes walk from the centre, in an attractive area of interesting buildings and attractive canals, with convenient free parking nearby (for which Gilbert supplied us... more

I cannot thank Maggie enough for being such a good hostess. Her rooms were lovely and the breakfast was delicious...she even packed a "to-go" basket with our leftovers! more

The Royal Stewart is a gem of a bed and breakfast in a gem of a city. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. Hosts Maggie and Gilbert are hospitable and helpful. Maggie's friendly, good-humored conversation at breakfast put us in a good mood and got us off to a pleasant start each day. Our three-day stay at the Royal... more

My wife & I spent a few days at the Royal Stewart while visiting Bruges. The room was very nice, breakfast was great, the location fantastic (five minute walk from the center of town), and the hosts were wonderful. Maggie helped making our stay in Bruges as wonderful as the city itself. She knows the town well, and is a... more

My husband and I visted Bruges in April 2009 and had a wonderful time. We stayed at the Royal Stewart B&B (nice accomodations and very reasonable) and sampled a lot of the local treats (We loved Druid's Cellar pub and Dumon's chocolates!). I definitely recommend renting bikes and exploring the town, and also taking a guided boat tour. We can't... more

Lovely B&B I stayed in this B&B along with my husband and another couple in August for 3 nights. Bruges is lovely so was the B&B. Everything was perfect. The rooms are decorated with very good taste. In the interior of the house there is a very charming little garden. Maggie is a true host, a real lady friendly and... more

Can't say enough positive things about this B&B and Maggie, the lady who runs it. We were in Room 1, right at the top of the stairs, and the room was a breath of fresh air - beautiful! Beautifully decorated and well maintained, very clean, we even had our own little table and chairs to sit at. The room has... more

If you find yourself in Bruges, Belgium, whatever you do, do not miss out on staying at this charming and affordable B&B. In 2 months of travel throughout Europe, staying in B&Bs in several countries, the Royal Stewart stood out as a gem. It was one of the least expensive B&Bs we stayed in, yet it certainly did not sacrifice... more

If you stay with Maggie and Gilbert you are treated like family. They will help in any way possible to make your vacation memorable. We stayed there with friends as one of several European stops and can say that our time at the Royal Stewart was a definite highlight. It is a charming, quiet little corner of Bruges to come "home"... more

We cannot say enough about our accommodations, but even more about Maggie. She was a godsend! We arrived very late at night (1:30 am), exhausted, and Maggie had the door open before we even got out of the cab! On our 3 day visit, our son got ill with strep throat on a day that was a national holiday, closing... more
