Wow, I could write so much about Bruges and the 1669, but definitely feel I should leave you to find out about Bruges yourself, I will satisfy myself by just stating that if you've been to York and walked through The Shambles, you may well have stared in wonderment at a single street so well preserved. If so then get... more

This B&B was exactly as reviews on Trip Advisor led us to believe. We stayed in the "Roof with a View" room which was beautifully renovated and very tastefully decorated, perfect for a romantic getaway. The hotel was very clean and quiet and just minutes from Brugge's central square. Co-owner Cynthia gave us a very friendly welcome and made time... more

We stayed thre nights in the Attic room which is in a shopping street a few minutes walk away from the main bed and breakfast and within easy walking distance of the main square. Instructions for the B&B emphasise that it is closed between 11 and 4 so we were a bit suprised when we turned up from the station... more

1669 is a beautiful building opposite St Salvators Cathedral. We stayed in the Salvator's Suite, which is a massive room overlooking the cathedral, with a huge bed, double ended bath, and walk in shower. The building has been beautifully re-furbished, and there is music in each room, at the touch of a buton. The owners, Cynthia and Olivier were really... more

We went to Bruges for a mother/daughter few days away. The Attic Suite, round the corner from the main B&B was beautuful - Bruges was heaving but once up the stairs we were in our own little oasis of calm. The attic is lovely - all wood floors and exposed beams. The roof terrace was wonderful for a drink at... more

My Girlfriend and I have just returned from a weekend in Bruges where we stayed at hotel 1669. The hotel is simply wonderful. Fixtures and furnishings are both practical as well as being very tasteful and decadent! The hotel is ideally situated right in the centre of the city next to the Saint Saviours Cathedral and close to all major... more

We stayed for 2 nights in the attic suite of the annex to the 1669 B&B. It exudes the charm that we were seeking. There was a wonderful patio with a peekaboo view of the cathedral. The room was well laid out and had loads of character. We felt like it was a little secret hideaway. more

We stayed at the family flat the 1669 B & B had available in Brugge. This was right around the corner from the B & B. The flat was great, it was spacious with a double (maybe queen) size bed and then a set of bunk beds. Nice big bathroom and kitchen area. The location was on a main shopping... more

We stayed at 1669 for two nights between xmas and new-year. From the moment we dropped off our luggage at 10.00 until we checked out we knew 1669 was different to anywhere else. Cynthia and Oliver are perfect hosts, there in the background but never obtrusive, they welocomed us into their home like family. They have done a great job... more
