All rooms have or are in the process of being totally refurbished. My room was excellent, overlooking the square. Only minutes from the beach, shops and tram stop (Marie Joseplein). From the railway station, catch the Centrumbus which stops only 100m from the hotel for 1.20 euros instead of an expensive taxi ride.

Ok, so the Hotel Ambassadeur probably hasn't changed very much since since the Germans occupied the city! Most small hotels in Oostendeare the same. Our room was terrible. This is the worst hotel I ever had. The room was really old fashioned. The bathroom: the shower didn't work. The only good things were the location and the breakfast (buffet) I was happy that it was only for one night.

The hotel has an excellent location: on the market square and at walking distance of all the things you need to see when you are in Ostend! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and when you stay in the hotel you must try the restaurant downstairs, the best seafood I ever had! What more do you need!
