The Pousda at Evora was the first one we stayed at with our 475 euro 5 night Pousada passport. Definately the best way to see Pousadas and Portugal at a discounted price, making the average stay 95 Euros a night if you stay Sunday to Thursday night. That's almost half price in some Pousadas

A beautiful building right in the centre of a World heritage site, convenient for cathedral and Roman remains - but sadly with very little convenient car parking because of this.
Lovely public rooms and unusual dining room around a cloistered courtyard. Friendly, helpful staff, but probably not enough of them ! Fine furnishings and paintings around the building.

Yes-there is ambience and it indeed, does feel like an old monastary, including the tiny monk's bedrooms. We were not impressed or comfortable. The books soke about great food but, again, we did not agree at all. We found the food mediocre and the restaurant staff not particularly helpful or friendly.
