We recently returned from 11 nights at the Luz Beach Apartments (front facing) owned by The Travel Club of Upminster. We last stayed there about 15 years ago and nothing much has altered in that time, except a lick of paint and the severe cutting back of the lovely bougainvillea in the terraces (shame). We had spent the previous 11 nights at Lagos Marina in a private apartment which was very luxurious, so we shouldn't really compare, but it took some getting used to having a lot less space.

The apartments rely principally on the amazing view and unbeatable location at the beach, however in the 21st century I do think it would be wise to look at updating the apartments to match the kind of expectations visitors have today. The apartment is furnished with 1970's pine furniture, equipped with a stainless steel coffee/tea set and main meal plates that could barely hold one pork steak.
