The service is average, with nice staff always ready to help, breakfast is good as well. The rooms are a little bit uncomfortable, and its lacking an extra bathroom. The location is very good, near evrything interesting in Coimbra. If you plan to spend five days or less in Coimbra, I reccomend it!

This hostel is not just a place to spend the night, but is a great place to relax and enjoy Coimbra. The staff were excellent and went beyond the normal hostel staff job description. No locks on showers and toilets; poor to awful service; nondescript breakfast and poor facilities, in addition to an infestation of ants meant this was most certainly the worst hostel in which I've stayed in Portugal, which generally has very good hostels countrywide. The location is great however and the Wifi super speedy. Still doesn't make up for it though!

Coimbra is a beautiful city to visit and Grande Hostel de Coimbra is up to it. The space and decoration are wonderful, the staff makes you feel at home and the prices are fair. I'd recommend it to everyone and I hope to come back! 10 stars!

The Hostel has a fantastic location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Wi-fi is very good and free....). Sunny garden!! Altogether it's a very special place. Will come back =)
