Nice, modern hotel with well furnished rooms. Breakfast was good, but not very interesting. There is no view to speak of, nor is it close to the city center, but if you enjoy walking (I do) you do get a nice view of the winding city streets as you head to the center. more

Stayed here for a few nights on a Titan tour of north Portugal. Generally the recent reviews on here are fair and accurate. It is a little way out of the main town, so not too convenient for Coimbra itself. Modern hotel, looks nice and with pleasant reception/bar area. Rooms were fine and quite nicely equipped. A modern good quality hotel on the edge of the city. Very Good breakfasts with choice of hot and cold food. The restaurant is also well worth a try, offering local dishes at a reasonable price. All the staff were friendly and very efficient. A couple of 'local' bars in a shopping centre are just around the corner as well... more

Hotel Tryp is pretty good - new (construction work nearby now finished), standard-type hotel, but spacious room and bathroom, good service, great breakfast. On the edge of the old town, but only a short (and cheap) taxi ride away, and also from the train station. more

Coimbra is SO NICE!!! city center hotels did not look nice from the outside, Tryp is ok, not in the center, lot of construction going on around the hotel, so quite ugly surrounding. 1 or 2 days is really enough to discover Coimbra, hotel was a good choice because of the price.
