Recently we had a trip in Portugal, we spent 2 days in Cascais and from our guide-book we had this hotel. Excellent choice !! We had great time , the room was a little bit spartan but roomy, the hotel has an excellent position in the center with a private parking in front of very convenient , the owner and... more

Me and my husband decided to visit friends in cascais, they booked our room in this bed and breakfast in the first place because it was near their house,in the center, very easy to reach the train and bus station.Once we arrived, inéz was waiting with a big smile, she recomended restaurants, places to see, told us about the market that we went the next... more

We recently stayed in the Solar Dom Carlos Hotel which we booked based on Trip Advisor reviews. Without question we will definitely be returning to this beautiful, homely, clean, family run hotel. The hotel is situated in a lovely quiet street so extremely peaceful at night time but really only a few minutes walk from all amenities - the beach,... more

We stayed in the Solar Dom Carlos for 11 days in early May and while I had spent a great deal of time planning and debating the pros and cons of the many hotels that Cascais has on offer I was so relieved to find out I had picked the best one for us. As the purpose of our trip... more

Stayed there in summer 2008. I'm sure it was once lovely but it's description is very misleading - quite run down inside and out. We stayed in the main part of the hotel, which looks better than some rooms which are situated in the garden area. It was very dark and dreary with mould on the bathroom walls and very... more

I have stayed at Solar Dom Carlos on many occasions. It is an excellent hotel - pefectly situated in the middle of Cascais - next to the beach and heart of town. The rooms are clean and there is a lovely garden in the hotel too. The hotel staff are very friendly, speak English and always willing to help. Thank... more

Cannot recommend this little hotel highly enough. It's in a great location in the old part of Caiscais, close to bars, restaurants etc but tucked away on a little side street so it's really quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a renovated old palace so it's not modern but done in the "old style" which... more

We've just returned from our trip to Portugal to play Golf. We had a wonderful first experience in Portugal. This former Manor House is the perfect place to stay, if you want to know Lisbon (1/2 an hour by train), Sintra (20 min by car) and to play golf. This B&B Hotel is located in the historical part of Cascais,... more

The Solar Dom Carlos is a very economical hotel for people who don't want to spend big money on a place to stay in the Cascais area. In May 2007 my Wife & I got B&B plus 2 rooms consisting of main bedroom with double bed, TV & air con with a large bathroom en-suite, The other room was a... more

We stayed one night. This was once a beautiful home but has not been loved in recent years. Quiet, but our room was very run down, stained bedspreads and throw rugs, threadbare towels in an awkward bathroom. Beds were good. Staff was very nice and friendly. We moved Casa Pergola the next day--what a difference a day makes. Be warned--three... more
