My wife and I just returned from a trip to Portugal that included a 3 night stay at the Albatroz. Our time at this wonderful hotel was doubtlessly the highlight of the trip. We have had great success in the past with other "Leading Hotels of the World" properties and this track record was a major factor in our decision to try the Albatroz.Fodors recommended paying a little extra for an ocean view... and we truly scored by following this advice and ended up with a magnificent ocean front room in the new "Palace" Building. The hotel is made up of the main building (the two original villas that were combined) and the "Palace" which is seperate from the main complex and houses a conference center and 6 ocean front rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and finely decorated with quality furnishings, linens and towels. The complimentary port in a small decanter was filled every night and was always well received.
