I am very disappointed with this hotel. It is cheap, but it is everything. If the price is important for you and this hotel is the cheapest one you can stay there, but you must take attention that the hotel is in the top of the hill and you need to walk 600-800 meters to the centre or to the... more

Upon arrival, check in was quite easy. The receptionist's English was okay. We stayed in a suite that faced the front of the property onto the residential street. The bathroom needs a makeover, although we've seen the room attendant thoroughly clean the bathroom...the rust spots were a bit of a turnoff. I booked this 3 star hotel room because it... more

I had read reviews about this hotel after I had booked and dreaded going to it. When I arrived, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. The room was clean and tidy and the breakfast was okay but nothing spectacular. Even the bar was open which was again different from some previous reviews. I... more

Just back from the Lido on a four day break. As previous reviews, this hotel is indeed very basic and thankfully our room (5th floor) relatively clean. The hotel staff were very helpful given the fact that they didn't speak great English and our Portuguese was lousy. The Lido is in an extremely quiet/remote location so would definitely recommend hiring... more

The hotel website says it's close proximity to golf course and casino, and short walk to the beach. The actual fact is it was more like a 1.5 to 2 km hike from the beach, and 800m walk to the casino. The hotel was so secluded that it needs a couple of street signs to direct people to. If you're... more

We spent a week here in May 2007. OK... the good points first.. Reasonable room, good airconditioning, a balcony and a good outdoor pool. The staff were alright and seemed apologetic but a bit frightened of something all the time. BAD points... The "Estoril Room" Restaurant on the top floor was closed and chained up. No evening meals were available... more

The hotel looked okay on its website. There was an english version and the booking was easy. Big Mistake. For days, no one was able to contact me at this hotel because the recpetionist kept hanging up on English speaking persons. There was an emergency at home and people tried desperately to contact me at the hotel numerous times and... more

The Hotel Lido is an average three star hotel with acceptable air conditioned bedrooms. The lounge bar was small and stuffy and closed when the pool bar was open during the afternoons. The Menu for those with a choice is of three items, Meat Fish or Omelette. We travelled with the infamous travelsphere and had no choice, and mostly pork.... more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel, it being part of a package tour taken with Travelsphere. Although it was supposed to have been refirbished last year the room carpets were very dirty! I guess that this type of hotel would do better with tiled floors. It seems that the hotel is only geared up for group bookings on... more
