Very good location if you don't insist that city centre needs to be within walking distance. From the centre it takes ca. 10 minutes with underground+another 5 mins. pleasant walk (from station Praca de Espanha). Large rooms, very contemporary. It is a 5-10 min walk to closest subway, but then very short distance via subway into heart of Lisbon. The Novotel is a beautifully presented hotel, with fantastic rooms, which had just been refurbished to a high standard when I stayed there.
