We visited Losbon at February 2013. The weather was fantastic. We enjoyed 3 sunny days. Palacio Belmonte is a very special place in Lisbon. Everything in the hotel reflects the personality of the owners. They are really special and unique people. During our stay we felt very comfortable. It was a home away of home experience. Every suite is different... More

We just left Palacio Belmonte. This is not a typical high end hotel. You are staying in an impeccably restored mansion. The public areas are gorgeous and they are all available for your daily use. We chose to have breakfast every morning served in a large sitting room adorned with ancient Portuguese tiles. The breakfasts were perfect--eggs, ham, fresh fruit,... More

Fantastic, Beautiful, Unique, Warm and Welcoming! This is up there with the best places i have ever stayed and is so much more than a 5star hotel. (it beggars belief that the four seasons is number 1 but given this has a smaller number of rooms I suppose it does not get the footfall) Back to the Palacio - you... More

Sometimes in life, one just has to treat oneself to wonderful experiences! Staying for a week at Palacio Belmonte was such an experience. What a perfect way to experience Lisbon for the first time. The building and superb renovation by owner(Frederic) , speaks for itself. The staff( Maria,Nelson and Rita) were always pro-actively helpful and guided me to explore the... More

This could be one of the most stunning destinations in Portugal. The Palacio sits near the top of the hill going up to the castle. It is almost secretive with a small doorway entrance from a courtyard which is also a thoroughfare. Inside it has been lovingly restored with great care and attention to detail. The rooms are magnificent, large... More

Palacio Belmonte is a fabulous building with lovely views over Lisbon but it fell short of our expectations in so many ways. Although the staff were superficially very friendly and helpful they were very far from what one would expect from what we had thought would be a top class hotel. They seemed to treat the hotel like their own... More

Dear Sir What we can say in a moment of rage!… when you left smiling and wrote in our book: ”Beautiful and peaceful place in a beautiful city. The restoration of the palace is wonderful – each room has a new surprise. I hope we will be back.” (Just because the girl asked you to charge a transfer she had... More

My husband and I spent 4 nights in the Richard Ruiz Suite at Palacio Belmonte in May of 2012 and were thoroughly delighted with our accommodations and the hotel itself. The hotel is located in a former palace that has been beautifully restored and remodeled to include modern conveniences. A number of lovely public rooms and terraces are available for... More

If you are looking for an exclusive place, far from standardised hotels. Some kind of luxury bed and breakfast in a real palace with real classical furniture and with a wonderful crew, Palacio Belmonte is the place. Everything is perfect there !

The Palacio Belmonte certainly does not come cheap but the expense is more than justified by what must be its considerable upkeep costs. the unique experience it offers is worth every cent. Guests have the run of the hotel with its sprawling rooms, filled with antiques, books and art objects. The place is not luxurious in the conventional sense but... More

At the Belmonte there is no crowd, no noise, no chocolate on the pillow, no television, just fresh air, space, light, your own laughter and music. For an experience beyond compare, far back to our roots, to our childhood, to fantasy, let Palácio Belmonte be your house while discovering the wonderland of Portugal. House of the Earl of Belmonte, Cabral and the Marquis of Atalaia for the past 500 years, the Belmonte is a stunning sculpture, a 2197 years synthesis of Portuguese history. It became a few years ago the House of a Landscape Collector. He then decided to open his house to a very few for whom luxury is synonymous of encountering one’s emotions. Palácio Belmonte prides itself on delivering memorable unique customized experiences for those who choose to stay with us. For this reason Palácio Belmonte suggest experiences that can be personalized for you, whether it be a fabulous sunset in a yacht on the Tejo River, a private tour to unique architectural features of old Lisbon, your own private Fado singer, a special day out with wine, olive oil tastings and Lusitano horses in the Alentejo or maybe a dinner at the unique local "Tascas" in which you will experience the real authentic Portuguese hospitality. The Belmonte is the most veiled secret in Lisbon… and definitely a place to experience!
