My wife and I thought this was a gem of a place. In our first trip to Lisbon, we wanted to stay in the Alfama. Solar dos Mouros is right there in the Alfama but with easy access to the rest of Lisbon. We don't know what all the units are like, but we were offered a "suite" type of... More

Judging from the other reviews you really have to stay in the upstairs suites to enjoy it here. I stayed in the cheapest room (99 EUR per night), it was nicely desgined with a loft style level upstairs, but there was not much view at all and it was also winter time, without a single guest staying there. I thought... More

This is a stylish and convenient hotel in the castle district, just a short walk from the centre of town. Service is friendly and the ambience is informal. Rooms are large and comfortable. Interesting paintings on the walls. One small quibble: wifi only reaches the public areas. However, i recommend this hotel to anyone on a long weekend in Lisbon. More

A marvelous view and a modern decor. Very well located, just between Castelo and Alfama, its the best place to stay for those who want to know the old Lisbon. Lots of monuments, restaurants, wine bars near. Service is 5* More

The staff was so wonderful and the room we had was Alfama and it was great, comfy bed and wow a view to go along. Cool place to stay and so close to all the sights. Roman ruins nearby and fantastic restaurants. Very fun modern and a great energy to the place. Stay here and you will agree. More

I spent some time this summer researching hotels online before choosing the Solar dos Mouros in Lisbon, and was impressed with reviews in "The New York Times" and on TripAdvisor. Settling into a nice hotel room is important to my travel experience. I sometimes change rooms until I have found one in which I am most comfortable. This was not... More

Located in the Alfama quarter of Lisbon, 2 minutes away from the St George Castle. Close to public transportation and excellent local restaurants (not the fancy touristic ones - specifically look for Farol. Room was clean and comfortable and the staff very helpful. worth considering a stay if a quiet neighborhood is appreciated. More

I absolutely loved this hotel! The room I stayed in was on the fifth floor and had 5 windows with amazing views of the whole city. The room was huge with beautiful art work on the walls, very clean, had a phone, tv, fridg., beautiful marble tiles in the bathroom and fresh fruit on the kitchen table. Each room and... More

Yes, the location is good, or very good, as other reviwer said. But that's all. The price of 170 euro is DEFINITELY not good value for money. And if you get, as I did, despite assurance it wouldn't be, a room in the "dependance" then you don't even have the view. There are no services at all (swimin pool, business... More

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. We arrived around noon and were greeted by a distant non-portuguese woman who was not genuinely nice. We read good reviews about this hotel on both trip advisor and booking.com and were looking forward to staying here for a reasonable price of only €100. We were greeted in a discreet, cold manner....
