We stayed at the Troia Design Hotel in August 09, sadly for 1 night only. What an amazing hotel and setting. I must say it is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I am not easily impressed.

Troia itself is a lovely town/resort. As it is still being developed not many shops or restaurants were opened when we were there, but there is a supermarket, a few restaurants, designer shops, and a golf course. Enough to keep you busy. Seemed like a great place for kids as well, with lots of facilities and kids playgrounds available.

Troia Design Hotel lives to its name and price tag, which is quite high, but after staying in a few other hotels in Portugal for cca 20EUR per room less I think Troia is worth the premium. Rooms are huge, all with balconies, biggest bed I have ever slept in, and glass open plan bathrooms (there are curtains for the shy people).
