My friend and I stayed at Piela's this July because we wanted to see dreamy Sintra. Piela's offers clean comfortable basic rooms, all with meticulously clean bathrooms and ours was just that. Staff were friendly and kind. The location of this guest house is very good, for central sightseeing and is right next to the Museum of Modern Art which houses an excellent collection. There is an internet cafe next door. We found the breakfast here rather expensive, and went to the cafes on the main street for better and less expensive coffee and croissants. For us the real problem was the unrelenting traffic noise. It was summer and with the windows open the noise was pounding. No dreams for us in dreamy Sintra. We switched to a quieter place after two nights. Personally I would not return here, but Piela's guest book is full of testimonials from people who would.
