The Gordon is a very simple Residencial, with rather dark hallways and somber furniture, but it was fantastically quiet due to its location near the English Church. Yet it was only a short walk to the busiest parts of downtown Funchal, making the location excellent. At only 30 Euros a night it was also good value. The rooms had large windows with pretty views, and when the sun shone in it became wonderfully cheery. One note, however, is the included breakfast. It consisted of a cup of tea and a bread roll, so a snack might be an appropriate term. more
