Just returned from 11 nights at the Madeira Regency Palace Hotel. Good facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. We booked a side sea view room but received a nice sized room with a full sea view. Lovely large room with first class cleaning service. The bathroom area was in need of some decorating but nothing too serious shower etc... more

We stayed at Regency Palace on an RCI taster tour in 2005, but loved it so much we went back in 2007 once we were members. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere, good catering in the Hotel and Pool Bars, and great pools - two outdoor split level and one indoor (amazing starlight ceiling); needed as the nearby beaches are... more

Hotel Room: We booked a standard room for three and were delighted on arrival to find that we had a separate double bedroom, lounge with double sofabed, kitchen (with full size fridge, 2-ring hob and microwave) and balcony overlooking the water gardens and sea. The bathroom was a little tired with limited toiletries (soap, shampoo, bathgel & showercap) which you... more

We have just returned from one week at the Madeira Regency Palace. The hotel itself is lovely. The room was large and really comfortable. It was cleaned everyday to a high standard. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They reccomended a day trip around the island that was great and reasonably priced. Food in the hotel was all... more

We arrived at the hotel at 9.15pm. The receptionist was rude and didn't provide information of where we can eat or offer a porter to help with our bags (3 ladies travelling with large cases) we were just told to walk down a corridor go up some stairs and we will find our room. When we requested a porter this... more

We had originally booked at the Regency Cliff but it was full and we were sent to the Palace. This seems to be a common event. The room was large and comforatble; the bowl of fruit was a nice touch. There is building works going on nearby which spoiled our use of the balcony. The food was disappointing. Breakfast was... more

We've just spent another fabulous week at the Madeira Regency Palace. Once again we were welcomed like long lost friends. The weather wasn't very good but the atmosphere in the hotel is so relaxed that it didn't really matter. Everyone had a happy smile for us, any queries we had were dealt with speed and efficiency. We really love this... more

This is a tired hotel past its best. Fixtures, fittings and furnishings urgently require upgrading. The carpet in our room was stained! Extensive building work is going on in properites all round hotel and looks set to last for a further 12 - 18 months at least. And the restaurant is poor; two set buffet sittings in a five star... more

We did not stay at the Regency Palace, but ended up there as part of a timeshare activity which is using the Regency Palace. We were confronted by a local man near the harbour who said that he was doing a survey for the Tourist Office. He asked a few basic questions and then asked us to take part in... more

We stayed in the Madeira Regency Palace for 14 days. We had a studio apartment, no meals included. “Palace” is a very comfortable place to be; service is at a high level, the staff is always smiling and ready to help. Parts of the hotel, our apartment inclusive, is beginning to be a little run- down. Everything worked, however. The... more
