We spent 10 days at the Eden Mar, our first visit to Madeira. The hotel was all we could wish for, lovely spacious room with perfect view out across the promenade and to the ocean. We used bars and had breakfast in hotel, service and food excellent (we never needed to eat lunch!) and staff all smiling and very helpful.... more

We stayed at the Eden Mar for our silver anniversary and received a lovely bottle of wine, flowers and a room upgrade. The choice at breakfast was superb catering for everyone, and the staff very helpful and friendly. Only problem was that the best restaurants were in Funchal so we had to travel by bus which were often very crowded... more

The hotel is well situated overlooking gardens and the sea. There is no passing traffic and the hotel and grounds are very peacefull. Everything was spotlessley clean and the room was large with a pleasant outlook over the sea from the balcony (higher floor roooms best for this. Have just returned from this wonderful hotel . It is partofa group of three hotels all interlinked and the facilities of all are available to everyone. The room we stayed in was a standard studio and despite being room 1313 it waswonderful. The small kitchenette was perfectly adequate and the room was a good size. The Hotel boasts 5 pools... more

Stayed one week in august with my mum in Eden Mar. Had a fantastic suit on the first floor with a large balcony. The flat is very well laid out, with two flat screen TVs , nice kitcenett and a very nice bathroom with a bath tub. My advise is to use the whole hotel area belonging to the Residence... more

Back from Madeira, we stayed a week at the Eden Mar. Good complex for the day and very good view from our suite but, gosh, what a noise from the pools and musci during the first part of the evening. These noises usually stopped at 10-11PM but still, I booked a 4* hotel, not a club! Meanwhile, really good food... more

Positives Staff at Breakfast Room are excellent Food at the restaurants is very good - we tried the Med restaurant which was as good as any five star restaurant in the uk The spa is fantastic and good value - I had 2 treatments and they were lovely as were the staff especially the manager of the spa The Pools... more

I was looking forward to madiera and chose the eden mar because of the excellent reviews. Unfortunately we had plus and minus points. Being very well travelled we have been spoilt with holidays in Dubai and Florida etc, but we like to spend our money on holidays as we have a 1 year old boy and 5 year old girl... more
