Ideal out of town location away from the madding crowd of Funchal. It has wonderful views of the sea and mountains and especially of Funchal at night. Impeccable service and attention to detail. This was a terrifically lucky find, splendid small period hotel with rooms with great views of the harbour and cruise ships, an excellent location a short walk from the town and in the Old part of town, much better than the mega hotel quarter on the other side of the harbour. This hotel is delightful with its warm and friendly staff and old colonial atmosphere we really enjoyed our stay. Situated on the outskirts of Funchal you need to be fit to walk into town but the hotel provide a courtesy bus which runs during the day and early evening.
